john1.jpgjohn.jpgWell, its been a long, long journey with this one…..but I can, at last, say it is over. Last night, at approximately 1 a.m., I put the final stitching into “Jesse’s Flames.” Please, please hold the applause. To my surprise, John wore it school today! While I know that this may be the only time it is worn, I am simply amazed that it is at least semi-wearable.

This morning I awoke fresh, new, and ready to begin a new project. While surfing for potential projects, I discovered a nifty site that will calculate the dimensions of your very own dog sweater. Here’s an example:

    WOO-HOO

    Nice job!
And if you click on the pictures they get rilly big — like almost life size!
    and
. . . how appropriate that he wear it on his very first round of parent/teacher conferences . . . flames for the flamed . . . (sometimes, sadly, that is how it goes)

Yeah, I just learned to link the pictures (I’m pretty slow at this stuff), so I haven’t quite figured out the appropriate size yet…..and I was too lazy to play with it last night. One of these days I’ll get it right.

Gary’s mother gave me some old needles and a little bit of yarn. She said she started knitting at 17 years old. At the department store in town, there was an older lady who worked there full time. She taught anyone who walked in to knit and also everyone brought their knitting problems in and she would fix it or help them. Gary’s mother started because she wanted to knit her boyfriend a sweater. And she did. He broke her heart.
